 Phillip Garrido, on parole after a serious sex conviction and a registered sex offender, is accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991. Dugard was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California. Phillip and Nancy Garrido are charged with 29 felonies pertaining to the kidnap and rape of Jaycee Lee Dugard.

El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, CA  holds Phillip Garrido while he awaits trial. From the district Attorney’s Office in El Dorado County we are informed that Garrido can watch his saga unravel on TV and through periodicals.

We Now Come To The ‘Latest’ In The Phillip Garrido Case.

Just two days ago, from his jail cell Garrido wrote a letter to Sacramento Television Station KCRA  in which he complained that a number of Jaycee Lee Dugard’s Civil rights had been breached.. These included her Rights of Free Speech and being repeatedly denied access to an attorney during questioning. Garrido asked that they contact her at the earliest possible date.

So Garrido has the right to follow his story on TV and write to the media and thereby influence his case. By this I mean he can keep the nightmare alive for the Dugard family. Constantly putting his name in their front room. Someone in the family is bound to turn the TV on and hear of this letter. What right does he have to do this? What are we doing letting him?

This seems to be all about Garrido’s rights. The prisoner’s rights. He’s allowed to keep abreast of his case and the news on TV. He has the freedom to communicate and air his views and opinions to the media. Putting his opinions on paper and sending them to KCRA. The KCRA company will grab at the chance to air its contents and Phillip Garrido knows this.

The Dugard family are going to see the letter or hear about the letter and the nature of its contents.

What are the issues here? This is all about Phillip Garrido’s right to carry on his abuse and torment of Jaycee Lee Dugard and the whole Dugard family.

Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family need our total protection. We mustn’t let them down again.

So I ask you who’s sick? Phillip Garrido for standing jointly accused of 29 felony charges, for writing this letter, or for us letting him?

Do our rights count at all? The rights of the Dugard family and poor Jaycee. What about the victim’s rights? We all have the right to insist on protection from animals like Garrido!
